Ultimate time telling machine: BALL and BMW Watch Collection

Independent Swiss watchmaker BALL Watch Company and renowned German automaker BMW recently signed an exclusive agreement in a quest to define perfection, precision and expertise.

With a shared passion for precision mechanical engineering, it turns out that BALL Watch Company and BMW share many of the same values, which include a spirit of innovation and plenty of technical and aesthetic expertise. Reflecting this, Ball is about to launch a contemporary BALL & BMW collection of watches.

The watches will feature COSC certification for all models, as well as a revolutionary anti-shock system, BALL’s patented Amortiser® system which protects the movement against extreme shock. Inspired by the automotive world, it features a shock-absorbing protection ring, also anti-magnetic, which envelopes the movement. Safety and performance combined: another two core values shared by BALL and BMW.

Most of the watches are powered by a Swiss ETA mechanical automatic movement with a range of basic features in addition to the time. There are models with a power reserve indicator, a GMT model and a basic three-hand model. The limited edition version of 1000 pieces will feature Ball’s special “TMT” mechanical thermometer module that it has used on other watches in the past.

The basic model is a 40mm Ball BMW watch with a simple dial bearing the BMW logo. As with all Ball watches, these models will feature tritium gas tube illumination on the hands and hour markers. The watches are designed to pay homage to various distinctive attributes BMW’s vehicles.

The new BALL & BMW collection will be made available at the end of the year through a network of selective retailers and will be priced from around US$3,800.00 - 5,300.00.
