Want one for Christmas blues: Linde Werdelin Spidolite II Titanium Blue

Just in time for Christmas, the SpidoLite II Titanium Blue has been released by the Danish design geniuses headquartered in London’s Notting Hill.

It’s a limited edition of just 75 pieces, and the good news is, following and acting upon feedback, the crown of the SpidoLite II series has become much more accessible. The new Titanium Blue model leaves more space around it, making it easier to access and set the time and date. Many not so nimble fingered customers found the original crown too well protected by the crown guards.

Meanwhile the electric blue dial boasts superbly contrasting small seconds detailing and orange indices at 12 o' clock, 3 o' clock and 6 o' clock with small sub seconds at 9 o' clock. The model being made of titanium makes it lighter and ideal as extreme sports watch.

The Titanium Blue runs on the same calibre LW04 automatic mechanical movement manufactured exclusively for Linde Werdelin by Concepto based on their own Concepto calibre 2251.

The watch is available directly from the Linde Werdelin site at 10,400 CHF before VAT ehich is around $11,000 at current exchange rates. Look out for the gorgeous Spidolite II in red to be featured here very soon.

Under the spotlight: Piaget Limelight Gala

Retro remains resolutely contemporary in the world of haute horology at the moment, and Piaget continue the trend taking inspiration not from the 40s or 50s, but this time from what was known as the swinging 60s. Piaget adorned the elegant women of the time with dazzling jewellery watches.

The Limelight Gala collection draws on the look and feel from this fascinating and energetic period. The latest addition to the collection is the Limelight Gala, a watch with sensual curves and precious gem-setting, with a distinctive personality imbued with a sense of glamorous chic.

The round case is enhanced by two elegantly extended lugs and the eye catching nature of its silhouette is accentuated by a bezel set with a row of progressively sized brilliant-cut diamonds. The pure, understated dial features black Roman numerals matching the refined satin strap.

As if to demonstrate Piaget’s fully integrated watchmaking capabilities, the Limelight Gala watch was created entirely in house at the Manufacture Piaget from the initial sketch to the design right the way through to the shaping and finishing of the case.

The delightfully feminine Limelight Gala watch is a subtle heritage from the wild years of the 1960s.
